GDC 16: Best of IGF Pavilion 

he 18th annual IGF has now come and gone, and with all the buzz about VR, and new networking, it’s comforting to know that the IGF Pavilion is still getting plenty of love from the attendees that’re passing through. Some of the titles being showcased are ones we’ve all become familiar with, and then there are the ones that were out of left field; the ones that proved that VR wasn’t taking over the future of video games, and that there was plenty of steam left within the creative bank of design towards games.

GDC 15: Breaking down the IGF pavillion highlights

hat faithful time has arrived once more, the grand opening of the GDC expo floor, and like a moth to a flame, I immediately gravitated to the IGF Pavilion to experience the games that were picked as finalists for this year’s award show.

I have to admit, I was charmingly surprised as well, not since I had first played Gone Home at this very exhibit years ago, had I came away from the entire thing feeling so moved but what I was able to play.

Enough of the suspense, here are some of my favorites from the event that are sure to be on everyone’s radar when they release later down the line!

GDC 14: The best of the IGF Pavilion

’m mere hours away from one of the biggest events in GDC, The Independent Game Festival awards—the real action of IGF however, is happening right now at the IGF pavilion on the show floor. Soaking in all of the noise and lights that surrounded me, my stroll through the area proved to be a fruitful one, the games I sampled here are some of the most impressive I’ve played at the show so far.

GDC 2013: The Best of the IGF Finalists Pavillion

he GDC floor expo has kicked off into full effect, and one of the highlights of this intimidating platform is the pavilion booth showcasing all of the finalists nominated for the annual Independent Games Festival awards. Sean and I had the pleasure of roaming through the aisles of all these favorable titles, and we highlighted some of our favorites. While some debuted to the public during our attendance to the show, others are still awaiting completion to go gold. Thanks to the partnership with Valve this year, each game will be available on Steam.
