Evo 2016: Day Two Impressions

or our second day at Evo, there were several tournament finals that we were able to see during the event. The final standings are:

Tekken 7 Fated Retribution Grand Finals: Knee vs. SAINT. Winner: SAINT. (SAINT and Knee qualify for The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2016)

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Grand Finals: Ally vs. kamemushi. Winner: Ally

Pokken Grand Finals: Tonosama vs. buntan. Winner: Tonosama (Tonosama and buntan qualify for the Pokken Tournament World Championship Series)

Killer Instinct Grand Finals: F3|Hollywood Sleep vs. UA|Bass. Winner: F3|Hollywood Sleep

PPR 91

lack Friday be damned, Press Pause Radio comes back with a force before we prepare for the Golden Zonkies, and it’s a bit of a doozy. It’s one thing when life imitates art but the surrealist freedom and wacky liberties of video games allow us to escape all the nonsense and frustration that life has to offer; which is why it’s super poopy when video games are broken by design, to the extent to where they’re almost unplayable.

Sure the occasional bug or glitch can be fun little exploit that’s great for a distraction but the last couple weeks of releases have shown us just how dark this rat race to production has been for some of the year’s most  anticipated titles.

PPR 86

o how about that E3 huh…it was—great; yeah, we know, we’re really surprised about it too. I guess when it comes down to it, all you really need a great E3 a showcase filled with dozens of games, who’d a thunk it right?

This week’s episode of PPR runs all over the map, as we talk about our thoughts on the Destiny Alpha, No Man’s Sky, Fable Legends, Scalebound, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Super Smash Bros, Uncharted 4, First Light, and so much more.
