On the mean streets of urban ghetto, we find the sultry but innocent blonde by the name of Marion, who runs afoul with the wrong people and gets one swift punch to the gut for her troubles. Bursting on the scene are Billy and Jimmy Lee, ready to exact their vengeance in the name of justice against any two bit hood or flunky that stands in their way. WayForward strikes the scene again as a contracted developer for the renowned beat ‘em series with Double Dragon: Neon. Catie and I took the time to punch continually to the right and high fived every step of the way in our Hands on preview play.
Pinned down behind a bar booth, Max counts his odds against a desperate gunfight with the mob in a rundown billiard hall. Max starts to feel the ache in age as his partner Raul runs to take cover to the right, preparing to lob bullets into their attackers. Behind him laid the alpha demo of Sega’s latest effort to recapture Sonic’s fame in the sequel to the intended throwback, Sonic The Hedgehog 4. The new Episode II has its work laid for Sonic, but Sega promises yet again that this is the answer to all of Blue Blur’s woes, and they may just be right this time.
Exciting things are coming from Gearbox Studios this year. I got the chance to play two blockbuster hits coming from the Texas based studio that should be hitting shelves this year. Aliens: Colonial Marines is being published by Sega, and is considered to be cannon in the Alien universe. The other title is the long awaited sequel to the very popular shooter Borderlands, Borderlands 2. I was very excited to see both games in action, and extremely happy to be able to play both multiplayer and single player in both titles.
