Bullet Heaven, Episode #205 - Sol Divide: Sword of Darkness for NSW

ome games have a pretty bad reputation but more than once on Bullet Heaven we've shown that sometimes it's not as bad as it seems. But Sol Divide? Who knows how it'll fare... but! Zerodiv has brought it to the Nintendo Shmup, and it's time to see if it shines, or if it gets eclipsed. How does it stack up?

PPR Presents Play Play: Hudson Selection Vol. 3: PC Genjin

his is the fourth day of our special look at the Bonk Series! We’ll be covering 10 of the bulbous-headed caveman’s titles over the week, and well; we won’t be covering any of them in any specific order either—so deal with it or whatever.

Exclusive to the land of the rising sun, The original title that started it all received a remake on the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube, and boy did Hudson take a lot of weird liberties with the visual style—which is kind of cool, but mostly disturbing.

Eh, it’s still pretty cool, but whether or not that it’s worthy enough to faithfully substitute the charm of the original is up for debate, and dammit, do we do just that! Why don’t you guys just go on ahead and click play now to check it out!

PPR Presents Play Play: Odin Sphere

he PS2 may have seemed like eons ago to some, but one the most iconic systems in history certainly didn’t get there without pulling off some stunning feats in its day; Vanilaware’s Odin Sphere is definitely one of those feats. The guys get together to discuss what the game meant exactly to art design and the possible direction you can go with it, and well, George and Ser argue over just how well this little gem actually aged, while poor Toast scratches his head about the whole thing as he stays in the middle of it.

PPR 79

t’s that time again, and speaking of time, it’s a merciless beast to us all. We gather around the podcasting table to discuss the inevitable cross-dressing, uhhh, cross-streaming, ummm cross-crissing? Well, what we mean to say is that the next generation of gaming isn’t manning the ship on it’s own for some time, because the older siblings of the Ps4 and Xbox One aren’t shoving off just yet; it may seem like a small thing, but it’s going to affect us in a number of ways.

Aside from all that talk, we dive into your emails on Select Feedback, get nuts with Pokémon X/Y, gab on Final Fantasy XIV, and much more—it’s Press Pause Radio folks, did you miss us?

Rate and subscribe to us iTunes today, follow us on our new Twitch page, mail us at our new email Mailbag@presspauseradio.com, and be sure to stop by at our Forums and register as well!

Bullet Heaven HD, Episode 35 - Raiden III

North America saw very little in the way of shoot-em-up games for the Playstation 2. Only seven titles were ever released, making it seem as if the end was nigh for the shmup as a whole. In 2007, after the launch of all "next gen" systems, and a seeming second chance for shooters on the Xbox 360 in Japan, Raiden III was made available in North America for the PS2... but was it too little too late?

Did you like what you saw here today? Comments, questions and suggestions are not only welcome, but encouraged! Stay tuned for a new episode of Bullet Heaven, coming soon!
