Nintendo 3DS On Sale in U.S. March 27 For $249.99

This morning in New York City Nintendo of America announced their plans for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS, finally announcing the release date and price. Fans across the country will be able to own the successor to the DS on March 27 for the price of $249.99. Although there was software shown at the press conference such as Pilotwings Resort and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, no titles will be bundled with the system. President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime was on-hand to show the features that will on the 3DS, such as 3D video playback and the ability to take 3D pictures. There is also a more robust shop that will "include a steady progression of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games"..

The system also includes new software such as Mii Maker as well as software that will track the players movement and virtual activity, earning the player coins that can be used in compatible games. The best news in our opinion is the fact that with the 3DS will now have an easier friend code system, where the codes are no longer software dependent and can be registered instantly online. Thank God!

So what does everyone think of this news? Is the price of $249.99 reasonable enough for the ability of playing 3D without glasses,  or is Nintendo slowly trying to bankrupt everyone? I suppose we will find out on March 27 when the Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black 3DS is available in stores.
