019 sure is weird—we all knew that E3’s role in the industry has been dwindling by the year, but I don’t think any of us would have imagined how different the content was going to be now that both Sony, and Nintendo have bowed out of the expo this year.

Still, there’s plenty of scuttlebutt to get excited for, & we’ve got some predictions/news here in this episode for you guys to get excited over. While some of those rumors have already been confirmed during the production of this episode, there are plenty of other bits to discuss, like a new DarkStalkers, some Stadia exclusives, a Switch hardware revision, some proper Nintendo VR, additional details on the new Playdate console unveiled in late May, and so much more.

Join us as we take the chance to talk about E3 predictions, Canada’s exclusive television and cuisine, and many other details here in the latest episode of Press Pause Radio!

Life Through The Pixel Glass-07/16/2014

s I write this, I’m sipping on the cool refreshing double fisted cocktail of Gatorade’s Lime ‘n Cucumber swigged with a Rockstar Zero Carb Energy Drink; it’s a concoction that’s quite literally not for the faint of heart.

I’m staring at the screen, going over appointments for PAX Prime, reviews, and other stuff; it’s starting to sink in that we’re in a really slow period in video games right now—I honestly love these sort of periods too. We all work hard, play hard, and live hard; it’s hard to stay on top of something that eats away at our precious time and money. Don’t get me wrong, it may sound like I’m complaining but I’m only trying to illustrate that we can all use a break from playing games—let’s just idealize in other ways like cool art and shit.

Yup, you know where this is going, welcome to another edition of Life Through The Pixel Glass; I missed it, and I hope you all did too, let’s get this rolling.

hen it it’s hot, and nothing new is happening, the day just goes by slower, I mean, what exactly do you do with that kind of time? We have a few suggestions, but we decide to try and poll our answers together like a bunch of assholes; Press Pause Radio has the summer doldrums, and we talk about what our plans are during this break in games—and of course, our stupid backlogs too.

Aside from talking about stuff like the World Cup, The ‘Noid, and EVO 2014; we also argue over Mighty No. 9’s stupid funding campaign, Watch Dogs, California Extreme, Shovel Knight, Potato Salad, Mario Kart 8, and World of Warcraft—it was an episode that had a lot more range than usual. Persona 4, The Wolf Among Us, Bravely Default, Another World, and other games also get talked about a lot, along with Andrew being a new daddy and the idea of actually going outside…on a video game podcast? Yeah, it’s true, we really do entertain the subject.
