Bullet Heaven #230: Rival Megagun (PC)

Twinkle Star Sprites was a pretty fantastic game, but it stands almost completely alone. Rival Megagun looks to spice things up though! How does this TSS-alike stack up?

Bullet Heaven #229 - Game Tengoku Cruisin' Mix Special (PS4)

Game Tengoku was always one of our favorite episodes of Bullet Heaven to make. It turned out pretty good back in episode 37, and the game itself is one of the best we've played on Saturn yet. But a lot of its best parts were also hidden behind a wall of Japanese that most western players likely didn't grasp. Not anymore though, as Degica Games has finally brought the new PS4 conversion to the west in Game Tengoku: The Game Paradise CruisinMix Special! There's a lot to love here... But how does it stack up?

Bullet Heaven #228 - Black Bird (Switch)

Inspired by the classics but with some of the best visual and sound design we've seen on Bullet Heaven so far,  Black Bird is an excellent argument in favor of games as art. One of the freshest shooters we've played to date, this game has to be seen - and heard - to be believed.  But how does it stack up?  Let's take a closer look!

Bullet Heaven #226 - Zero Ranger (PC)

There are a lot of great vertical shooters out there, but none do quite what Zero Ranger (formerly known as Final Boss) does. Even though there isn't anything especially noteworthy about its individual parts, it really all comes together to make an experience that's unlike any other shooter we've played yet. But how does it stack up?

Bullet Heaven #225 - Velocity 2X (Switch)

Shooting games with another genre blended in? Pretty neat, but what about a game with two totally different play styles that make up ots whole gameplay apporach? Futurlabs' Velocity 2X might hold the answer. How does it stack up?

Bullet Heaven #224 - Battle City (FC)

We finally acquired one of our very favourite games from our childhood and the last early famicom game we were missing that we played frequently on our 31-in-1 converted Famicom cartridge! The game? Battle City. Its significance? Enourmous. Still as good? Worth the wait? Let's see how it stacks up.
