PPR Games Club: Little Nemo: The Dream Master

We welcome you to our forth installment of the Press Pause Radio Games Club. On this episode we will discuss the fanciful childhood adventure Little Nemo: The Dream Master for the Nintendo Entertainment System. And when you're talking about imaginative and sometimes arduous games from the past, there's only one person to call; Ray Barnholt. The Gamepro writer and founder of Scroll Magazine joins us once again to discuss fiendish dandelions and candy-induced comas in great detail. We also take time at the beginning of the show to catch up with our Select Feedback segment where you, the listeners have an active part in the shows discussion. Come and join us as we adventure through Slumberland, with our gnarly beards and shoeless co-hosts.

PPR Two Year Anniversary Special

This is the moment you've all been waiting for; The Press Pause Radio Two Year Anniversary Extrazaganza™! (Not really trademarked, sorry).  For this episode, we pull out all the stops for you, our faithful listeners. We have a full room of PPR contributors along with Ignition Entertainment's Shane Bettenhausen to discuss the importance and evolution of video game podcasts. Having Shane on the show was a great experience for all of us, since he pioneered the  video game podcast during his time with 1up and we greatly appreciate him taking time out of his busy El Shaddai schedule to be on the show.

Stay tuned after our normal show for a retrospective on all of our best moments during our two years in existence. Listeners past and present will really enjoy this trip down memory lane full of singing, cursing and Hadoukens! Thanks for two great years and we hope for many more in the future. The amazing artwork for this episode is courtesy of Wil Brendel, who is an amazing artist you should be checking out. Enjoy!

PPR 40

Let it be known that Press Pause Radio is very two-dimensional, and because of that we are discussing 2D gaming on this week's episode. Nice segue, I know. 2D gaming has been a mainstay on every console since the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System and shows no signs of slowing down. We will delve into this topic as well as discuss new releases such as Bangai-O HD Missle Fury, Portal 2, Hot Springs Story and complain about the PSN downtime.

PPR 39

We return to our normal broadcasting schedule this week with Episode 39 of Press Pause Radio. On this episode we announce that we have a new member to the team, the lovely and talented Catie a.k.a Squid_inator. She apparently really loves squids and camaros (that's a car, right?) and will now be a regular contributor to the site and podcast. We discuss recent news with Nintendo's next console, and painfully remember embarassing moments in gaming. The crew then weighs in on the evolution and future of narrative in video games. With so much interactive storytelling in games today, are linear stories no longer a worthwhile experience? Or can both forms co-exist in gaming harmony? That question and many more will be answered in this lengthy episode. Thanks for listening and be sure to rate and review us on iTunes and Zune, so you can be as cool as this guy.

Games Club: Ikaruga & Contest

We wanted to announce that upon our return and the insane prediction that Serraxor made with Ikaruga being the final game of the PAX EAST 2011 Omegathon, we chose it to be our next Games Club! To commemorate our most recent Games Club with Ikaruga, we have decided to present you guys with a pretty rad contest. The rules are simple, each of us from Press Pause Radio that took part in the Games Club will take a picture of our top score for stage 1 of Ikaruga. We'll post the pictures via the Forum thread for our website forum. Where do you come in? The first one of you to take picture of your own score that beats all of our scores (individual scores, not a totaled amount) will win the contest, well what the fuck is exactly that you win? Glad you asked.

The winner will be able to take home the prize of codes that we would message you. One code is for a shiny Microsoft points card worth 1600 points, and the other is a code that will give you the chance to download the new digital record "Where The Air Is Thin" by our very own Serraxor.

So what are you guys waiting for? Go the fuck at it! Also make sure to tune into to the latest Games Club episode, it's a killer.

Press Pause Radio at PAX East: The Epilogue

So here we are, a week after our first trip to PAX East and fortunately none of us have any major illnesses or injuries! (That we are aware of, at least.) The entire group from PAX reunite to discuss their hits and misses from the show floor and beyond. We were able to meet close friends and listeners of the show, and hopefully this will be the first of many public appearances we will do. This show will be more personal and the last episode before we go back to our normal format. So enjoy our trip down memory lane, and don't forget to rate and review us on iTunes and Zune.

Press Pause Radio at PAX East: Night Three

Our final day of PAX East 2011 is a shorter experience than the rest of the weekend, due to the events of Saturday night (Thanks 1up!). However we still are able to gather our strength to discuss the games and events of Sunday in Boston, with the help of GeorgieboysAXE, Toast and for her first appearance on Press Pause Radio, Robin! We will converse about Duke Nukem Forever, Portal 2 and an assortment of independent games from the show floor. Thanks to everyone who said hello at PAX, and for all of our listeners who have been keeping up with our coverage. We will be updating throughout this week with previews and impressions from all that was shown at PAX East 2011. It was an amazing experience for all of us, and we are proud to share it with all of you.

Press Pause Radio at PAX East: Night Two

Our second day of PAX East 2011 proved to be very eventful, with an overabundance of video games, interviews and exclusive first looks. We also walked. A lot. The crew will discuss El Shaddai, L.A. Noire and Nintendo 3DS impressions. Special guest @MrMattJay from The Duelshockers podcast joins us as well, although due to lack of recording equipment is difficult to hear throughout the podcast. We apologize in advance for the sound quality, but we are sure our listeners understand. It's late everyone, give us a break, eh?
